With the global value of the video game industry nearing $100 billion, the related careers that fuel the industry are experiencing growth. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projects Software Developer jobs will increase by 17 percent between 2014 and 2024.  According to the BLS, the median annual pay for Software and Application Developers was $102,160 in 2015. The BLS lists Multimedia Artists and Animators jobs growing by 6 percent between 2014 and 2024 and the median annual pay was $63,970 in 2015.

Yes, courses in Gaming/Application Programming are offered online through Canvas. Online courses are comparable to classroom courses, but may be attended at a time and place of the student's choosing. Hybrid classes may also be available each semester. Check with the department for the current class schedule.
